A complete course linked to the QCA Scheme of Work
This new series of books and posters will help you develop your children’s scientific knowledge, understanding and skills in the Foundation Stage and throughout Key Stages 1 and 2. It provides everything you need to prepare and deliver excellent science lessons, complete with guidance on practical resources, information books and websites.
There are Pupil and Teacher materials for every year. The Teacher Books will include:
• starting points, discussion points, vocabulary and background information
• investigations and experiments using primary and secondary sources
• indications of expected learning outcomes to help with assessment
• suggestions for extending the activities
• links with other areas of the curriculum, particularly ICT.
The pupil material will provide illustrations and photographs which can be used in various ways:
• to introduce an activity,
• to stimulate discussion, questions and predictions and
• to provide opportunities for investigation and exploration.
