Quality stories for assemblies, with follow-up activities and optional prayers
Badger Assembly Stories are a very popular resource. Taking the pressure away from teachers and senior management in planning a meaningful and purposeful assembly with appropriate stories and learning objectives.
NEW! We are pleased to offer four new books in the series looking at "Sports and Sports Stars" with KS1 and KS2, along with "Heroes" for both key stages. Both sets of books are complete with SEAL links and cover a selection of famous people and heroes.
Our previously published titles include two books on "Sensitive Issues".
The stories tackle a variety of sensitive issues that may arise such as death and bereavement, family issues, tolerance, and national issues. The TES states that it was an "excellent job in providing child-centred stories" on these sensitive topics.
Also available is Global Issues. The two volumes, one for KS1 and one for KS2, cover a wide range of topical issues, including:
Natural disasters, Energy resources, Water, World poverty, Global media, Terrorism, War and World health.
Each assembly has:
interactive follow-up activities
non-interactive follow-up activities
an optional prayer
Objectives and curriculum links are clearly stated in all Assembly Stories volumes.
The Christian Themes volumes are an excellent way of covering some of the RE curriculum. Material includes: Bible stories, book excerpts and poems, biography, original stories, information, true-life stories and drama.
The PSHE and Citizenship volumes provide good coverage of some of the Citizenship statutory curriculum and PSHE non-statutory guidance. Some of these stories are factually based (on people or events or issues) and there is some poetry. Objectives and curriculum links are clearly stated.
