48 superb non-fiction titles focusing on reading and writing skills for infants
"Some of the best low-level non-fiction I've seen." Literacy Consultant
First Facts is a new series which uses a structured approach to introduce non-fiction features. Each book concentrates on a specific non-fiction feature or skill. Children are encouraged to think about and develop strategies and the text in the books provides a model for children’s writing, through activities provided in the Teacher Book with Copymasters. The First Facts series has been developed to foster this link between reading and writing.
There are three strands at each level: My World (Society and Environment), The Animal World and Science & Technology. Each strand begins at Level 1 with the child’s own environment, and gradually moves out to the wider world as the levels progress.
