Badger Nursery Rhymes

Bridging the gap between pre-reading and reading schemes

This project, uses popular nursery rhymes to introduce the first sight words for the Reception Class, as required by the National Literacy Strategy. They also provide a literacy course which aims to fulfil the Early Learning Communication, Language and Literacy Development goals and the National Literacy Strategy.
The teacher book offers:

• a variety of nursery rhymes
• coverage of all 45 high frequency words
• a range of objectives (word, sentence and text level work)

The course helps children to develop an understanding of early concepts about print, an appreciation for rhyme and rhythm, and a memory for text.
Ideal for the shared poetry reading section in the literacy hour, Badger Nursery Rhymes offer challenges for ALL readers – emergent, early and fluent.

Nb. (Nursery Rhyme Cards are longer available. Teacher Books are available still)
