Tried and tested thoroughly in schools, these files pull together the skills and experience of four consultants working in London boroughs.
Using the structure of group reading, they allow you to place students into different ability groups and to assign them different reading books accordingly – yet still teach from one
generic reading plan.
Lesson plans are written using a starter and three-part lesson structure. Homeworks are used to direct independent reading.
Opportunities for guided reading are clearly marked, as are areas which require whole class teaching and modelling.
Key Stage 3 Guided Reading includes work on recent novels for Years 7 and 8. The books chosen show a good range of level and subject matter. There is a separate Teacher File for each year, containing photocopiable Student Booklets for each novel, and teaching support materials.
