Skills and strategies for practical problem solving in Years 1 to 6
The national tests now include more questions requiring children to apply their Maths skills in AT1. This series supports the NNS objectives, teaching both skills and strategies for problem solving. It also provides plenty of vital practice.
• Simple 4-step approach to conquering the essential broad strategies
• Divided into six sections, each dealing with a particular strategy
• Each section includes teaching notes on how the strategy works, examples to work through with the whole class, a copymaster of prompt questions and five or six problem solving task cards
• The task cards offer problems (as questions or activities) at levels A, B and C
Badger Maths: Problem Solving is a flexible resource. You can also use it for homework exercises, or extra practice before the tests themselves.
When the TES reviewed problem-solving textbooks from 9 different publishers, this series was the only one to be awarded the top (five star) rating.
